Welcome to the Blog of Tipico Osteria dei Sensi: here we share our world of food, wine, olive oil and people. A journey through authentic experiences, events and stories from the true Umbria.
This was the guiding thread of a wonderful evening at the Osteria, featuring a vertical tasting of Trebbiano Spoletino aged in amphora from Cantina Annesanti, paired with “biodiverse” dishes prepared and narrated by Valentina Dugo, producer of ancient grains, biodiversity expert, and gifted communicator.
Winemaker Francesco Annesanti, from Arrone, shared his beautiful story of “returning” to the land and making radical choices in a challenging yet inspiring territory like the Lower Valnerina. The vertical tasting of Trebbiano Spoletino in amphora – vintages 2022, 2021, and 2020 – confirmed the extraordinary potential of this rediscovered grape variety. Thanks to its organoleptic qualities, complexity, and aging potential, it stands alongside some of the most important Italian and European white varietals, such as Timorasso and Riesling.
Great people create great events, and the Osteria became a natural stage where culture, taste, and conviviality came together. Thanks to Francesco and Valentina, every element – words to listen to, dishes to savor, wines to enjoy – blended into a journey of authenticity and beauty. The vertical tasting of Trebbiano Spoletino in amphora, crafted by Francesco, offered an explosion of earthy, citrus, and mineral aromas that paired perfectly with Valentina’s masterfully prepared and narrated “bites of biodiversity.”
A truly cultural experience showing how food and wine are much more than simple nourishment.
