Welcome to "Tipico" Osteria, where authentic Umbrian cuisine and the excellence of local ingredients are celebrated in the heart of the charming village of Montone. Here, every dish is an experience that engages all the senses, designed to let you discover the flavors and aromas of a land rich in tradition.

Our philosophy is based on three pillars: respect for the environment, support for the local economy, and the enhancement of ancient Umbrian recipes. Each dish tells a story of flavors, reinterpreted with a contemporary and creative touch.

Mazzafegato from Upper Umbria

The Mazzafegato of Upper Umbria is a traditional cured meat recognized as a Slow Food Presidium, representing a virtuous example of circular economy and respect for rural culture, where no part of the animal was wasted.

In tribute to this tradition, we decided to highlight it with a simple yet iconic dish: the mazzafegato maritozzo with braised endive, Leccino olives, and crispy onion.
The maritozzo embodies the conviviality typical of the osteria: it’s an informal dish that invites sharing and simple enjoyment. At the same time, it demonstrates how a "humble" food can become the foundation of a gastronomic preparation capable of surprising.

For this reason, we are extremely pleased that both the 2025 Slow Food Osterie d’Italia Guide and the 2025 Michelin Guide have highlighted it as a must-try dish.

The menu follows the seasons

A menu that changes with the seasons is much more than just a gastronomic offering: it is a tribute to nature and its rhythms, a way to tell the story of the land through its best products. Choosing seasonal ingredients means respecting the natural cycle of food, reducing environmental impact, and supporting small local producers.

The autumn menu is a true manifesto of this philosophy, with unmistakable aromas: those of products from our forests, mushrooms and truffles above all, the new oil that enhances the dishes, legume soups and vegetable creams, grilled meats, and game.

The fire in the Osteria completes the atmosphere, transforming the space into a peaceful refuge that enhances conviviality.
